Sunflower Pygoras specializes in processing Pygora/PCA
fiber.  Washing, picking, DEHAIRING, blending, and carding into roving or
batts are all offered.  With concentration on Pygora/PCA fiber, processing sheep wool is
not offered. This means no waiting in line for those large sheep fleeces to be processed
before your Pygora fiber!  Blending of already processed wool with Pygora is available.
Either wool or silk from my stash, or wool/silk you provide, can be beautifully blended with
your Pygora.

Sunflower Pygoras micro-mini
mill is very small and concentrates on quality over quantity.  With
machines from Belfast Mini Mills, Patrick Green and Fancy Kitty, your fiber will be
processed in a
professional manner, with a personal touch.

There is no minimum order, however, processing of less than one pound will be charged
the minimum price of one pound or run*. Partial weights will be charged to the nearest half
pound.

Please note!!!
As of January 1, 2012 Sunflower Pygoras will no longer accept prewashed fiber.

Please skirt fiber before sending/delivering for processing...

To send or drop off fiber, please email or call for our address.

                 SERVICES/PRICES as of January 2012

Washing-with other processing only, $3/lb or run, based on incoming raw weight.
Fibers          must be washed
here before going through the dehairer.  Sunflower Pygoras
no longer accepts prewashed fiber.

Picking/blending-$5/lb or run, per pass, based on washed weight. Fibers are picked to
open locks before dehairing and/or for pre-blending before carding. All
fiber needs to be
picked before being dehaired.

Dehairing-$25 per pound (or run under a pound)  for up to 5 passes through the
dehairer. Extra passes $5/lb or run, per pass.*

Carding-with other processing, $15/lb or run  for first pass, $7.50/lb or run each
additional pass.  Fiber made into batts or roving, your choice.

Carding-without other processing, $18/lb or run for first pass, $9/lb or run each
additional   pass. Batts or roving, your choice.

One run equals one separation of fiber, such as by color or specific goat.
For instance,  if you send in 10 oz of brown and 6 oz of gray and want them  processed
separately, you will be charged at the rate of two runs, not one pound. If you sent in the
same fiber and wanted them intermixed, you would be charged at the 1lb rate.

*Most Pygora, depending on various factors, is run through the dehairer five times. Unless otherwise discussed, it
is the decision of the mill to determine if the fiber needs to be run additional times to remove more guard hair or
vegetation matter  Please discuss any questions or concerns about this with me.

Dawn is used for washing. A Downy /water mix is used for static control.
Please print and fill out one of these forms for each fleece you want processed and ship with fleece.
